Next stop? Part2

After three months of complete silence from the job market, I finally landed myself a position as a program coordinator for a NGO called Shukuru. I have finally found my way into Moshi, my home town.
I never thought I'd live in Moshi  (Tanzania) because as a young child growing up, there wasn't much to do here; quite mellow. When I left for my further studies, I was glad to say good bye, never missed Moshi as a town.

About four years down the road, I was back in Moshi. I had returned to my birth town with just myself and no family along my side  Luckily for me, I still had my friends from primary and secondary education along with the aunts and uncles who supported my needs while I crashed around for three weeks.

I work in Sanyaa Juu which is about 35 km from Moshi. I commute with the local daladalas. It's affordable for my budget and it's quite the adventure. It's beautiful in Sanyaa Juu. So apart from working for a NGO, I continue shooting pictures of every day life. I have been lazy on my blog, but keep in mind I do not have wifi at home and therefore have to come to restaurants (UNION) and internet cafes.

As of now, i'm going to soak up the sun, enjoy life and see where my next journey takes me.

The hills are alive

I was coming back from my last official vacation, spent some time with my relatives in Nairobi and was eagerly excited to come back to Tanzania and finally begin working again !

Sanya Juu: Before New Years

Standing on a pick-up filled with chicken feeds and chics, the car drove slow for the most part as we were on a very bumpy road. I kept getting hit by the bars on the trucks because of the roads so the consequence of that was a sore body the next day. Ouch. It also begun to pour but the sight of seeing dark green hills and  and the Kilimanjaro National Forest, my heart melted. It was mesmerizing :) Quite the adventure.

The people of Sanja Juu are very nice, quite welcoming. As I was walking about in the village along with a volunteer from that non-profit, we kept meetings lots of people and greeted them politely vice versa. The weather was slightly cooler then it was in Moshi.

Oscar in the pick up. He worked hard that afternoon

He was dressed up quite well. When I asked him, if i could take his picture,  he laughed and said he wasn't dressed presentable enough.
